Eclipsed - by beauty and catastrophe

This is the story of the total solar eclipse in August 2017. The journey began in Washington State visiting Seattle and the beautiful National Parks of Mount Rainier and Mount St Helens. It continues to Portland, Oregon where the total solar eclipse was viewed in the Millamette Valley on 21st August at 10.17 am in Airlie Farm. A magical and erie experience as the light faded, the temperature dropped and the birds stopped singing and flying and suddenly there was darkness for a whole two minutes.Then along the rugged Oregon coast back to Seattle. A train journey to Vancouver, Canada and a car journey through the magnificent Rocky Mountains to Jasper and Banff, visiting the spectacular Lakes Medicine, Maligne, Bow, Louise and Moraine and finally to Toronto where Niagara Falls completed the journey.
