About Graham

I have been a wildlife enthusiast since I was a child and my photography began way back when I was a teenager. Firstly taking black and white photos and developing and printing in my own darkroom and much later turning to SLR cameras and finally digital SLR. In 1980 I studied for a  PhD in Ecology (Barn owls in Malaysia) and have lived and worked in Malawi, Sudan and Malaysia. I have been an avid traveller and wild-life photographer throughout my career and I have published many articles and photographs on natural history, in particular birds. My photographs have been accepted for membership of the Royal Photographic Society and I am on the RSPB Speakers list. Several of my photos have been shortlisted respectively for the Wildlife and Bird Photographer of the year. My working life has been in ecology and science education and I was a  lecturer at Oxford University and latterly Oxford Brookes University. I have also worked in India, Pakistan, China, Philippines, Dominican Republic and USA and for the United Nations (FAO) in Sudan, Kenya and Ethiopia as a researcher into the pest bird Quelea quelea. I have travelled and photographed in 85 countries of the world.
